Funded through a grant from First 5 SLO, the Health Navigator is able to assist families with children aged zero to five years to maintain safe, healthy, and stable environments. This is achieved by helping families to understand and enroll in insurance programs for which they may be eligible, connect with affordable health care services, and, overall, to ensure that children aged prenatal to five are connected with health resources. The Health Navigator works closely with families, advocates, and community partners to ensure that these children are connected with resources. In addition to working with families, the Health Navigator acts as a resource for child care providers, early childhood education programs, schools, and the community.
